Resilient Leaders 2021 Bounce Back Conference
Good morning colleagues. We just concluded our SAPA Gauteng executive meeting. We received a report from Nthabi that by today only 35 have paid for the conference. To break even we needed 150 to register. It is clear that with 2 weeks to go it would be very difficult to reach the target. Consequently the executive committee has taken a decision to cancel the 2021 Gauteng conference. We shall now focus on the popular Secretary's day event which is much easier even to prepare as it a half day event and more entertainment theme than speakers. The event will be held on the 3rd of September 2021 at around R 450 pp. Therefore the 35 schools that paid may opt in writing to have their money credited for this event and attend with 2 Secretaries or request a full refund. The executive has also agreed that we should arrange roadshows per region to service our members. We therefore need volunteer schools that can host us per region. Please just send me your name and school then the office will be in touch. Road shows are relatively free but we charge R50 refreshments which you bring in cash to the event. The topic this year will be migration from cheque books to eft. The do's and don'ts. We are planning to start with the Ekurhuleni region in the first week of June. Thanks very much. Amen

Dr Dempsey Mbulelo Noge Biography
Dr Dempsey Mbulelo Noge is currently a Director at Matthew Goniwe School of Leadership and Governance (MGSLG) – responsible for overseeing the development of training materials and support programmes. MGSLG is an agency of the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) established to research, develop and deliver cutting edge capacity building programmes in School Management & Leadership, School Governance and Teacher Development for schools in the Gauteng province.
His qualifications include a B.Sc (Ed), B.Ed (Hons), M.Ed (cum laude), and PhD with specialization on education, training and development. He started his teaching career in 1991, and quickly rose through the ranks to become a principal in the year 2000. A proud recipient of several awards in Secondary School Leadership Awards – for leading a team that consistently improved learner achievement. Awards received include - Ekurhuleni Mayoral Award in 2006; National Teacher Awards in the Secondary School Leadership Category in 2015 (Provincial level).
During 2017-2019, he served as a DCES in the Strategic Policy Development and Implementation Sub-directorate at GDE Head Office. There he was in a team that is responsible for giving advice to senior management on strategic policy management and development.
As an education specialist, he is adept in education research. A passionate team-builder and resilient leader with a recognized ability to merge dissimilar people into cohesive teams, and for promoting accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement of desired results.
